The purpose of supervised visitation is to provide a safe and neutral environment for children to have a relationship with parents, and is often used in high conflict situations.
A supervised custody exchange or monitored exchange, is a method of transferring custodial time from one divorced or separated parent to the other: in a way that prevents interaction or conflict between the parents during the transfer.
Supervised Visitation is the contact that takes place between the Non-Custodial parent and one OR more children in the presence of a neutral third party; that is responsible for observing and seeking to ensure the safety of those involved.
The Professional monitor of Supervised Visitation will observe the interactions between the custodian parent, non-custodial parent, and the child or children. He/She will take Observation Notes (of what they see and hear at exchanges and on the visit). If visiting parents pick a visit location that requires (i.e., a paid parking facility, a movie theater, or anywhere payment is required to attend or gain access into); the visiting parent is responsible for those fees incurred by the Professional monitor. The child is never to leave the sight or earshot of the Professional monitor. Our goal is for the visiting parent to have a neutral, non-biased, safe, enjoyable visit with the child or children.
